Pre-Care Instructions:

• Avoid Sun Exposure: Limit sun exposure and avoid tanning beds for at least two weeks before the procedure. Sunburned or tanned skin is more prone to complications, such as pigmentation changes.
• Topical Products: Discontinue the use of retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and other exfoliating agents at least one week before the treatment, as these products can increase skin sensitivity.
• Avoid Blood Thinners: Avoid taking blood-thinning medications, such as aspirin, ibuprofen, and certain herbal supplements, for about one week prior to the procedure. Consult with your healthcare provider before stopping any prescribed medications.
• Hydrate: Keep your skin well-hydrated by drinking plenty of water in the days leading up to the treatment. Hydrated skin tends to respond better to microneedling.
• Protective Clothing: If you'll be outdoors, wear protective clothing, such as hats and sunglasses, to shield your skin from the sun.
• Notify Your Practitioner: Inform your practitioner of any changes in your health, medications, or skin condition since your consultation.
• Cleanse Your Skin: On the day of the procedure, cleanse your face thoroughly to remove any makeup, dirt, or oil. A clean surface is important for the success of the procedure and efficacy of the topical numbing cream.
• Avoid Active Infections: If you have an active infection, such as a cold sore or acne breakout, it's advisable to postpone the microneedling session until the infection has cleared.
• Arrive Early: Arrive at your appointment a bit early to fill out any necessary paperwork and to allow time for any last-minute questions or concerns.

Post-Care Instructions:

• Avoid Sun Exposure: Stay out of direct sunlight for at least 24 to 48 hours after the procedure. If sun exposure is unavoidable, use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with at least SPF 30 to protect your skin.
• Avoid Makeup: Refrain from applying makeup for at least 24 hours after microneedling. This allows your skin to breathe and reduces the risk of irritation or infection.
• Hydrate Your Skin: Keep your skin well-hydrated by using a gentle, hydrating moisturizer. Avoid products containing harsh chemicals or active ingredients for the first few days.
• Avoid Harsh Products: Avoid using products with retinoids, alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), beta hydroxy acids (BHAs), and other harsh ingredients for several days post-procedure. These products can increase skin sensitivity.
• Gentle Cleansing: Cleanse your face with a mild, gentle cleanser for the first few days after microneedling. Avoid harsh scrubs or exfoliants.
• No Swimming or Excessive Sweating: Avoid swimming in pools, hot tubs, or engaging in activities that lead to excessive sweating for at least 48 hours post-procedure.
• Avoid Touching Your Face: Refrain from touching, picking, or scratching the treated area to prevent infection and irritation.
• Use Recommended Products: Follow your skin care professional's recommendations regarding post-care products. They may suggest serums or creams that aid in the healing process.
• Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to keep your body and skin hydrated, promoting overall healing.
• Avoid Harsh Environments: Stay away from environments with high levels of pollutants or irritants that may affect the healing process.
• Follow-up Appointments: Attend any scheduled follow-up appointments to monitor your skin's progress and address any concerns.
